Teşvikiye’s rich fabric, deeply intertwined with art, now opens its doors to a special exhibition that brings together some of the most prominent names in contemporary Turkish art.
Sense of Space
ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Curated by the esteemed Emre Zeytinoğlu, the exhibition will take place between March 14 – April 5, 2025. With their interdisciplinary approaches and distinctive visual languages, the participating artists take viewers on a layered and profound journey through artistic narratives.
Artists are primarily known and remembered through their works. While recognizing a piece and identifying its creator may seem sufficient at first glance, the artist’s creative process and their relationship with space are fundamental elements that inform their art.
Where an artist lives and works can significantly influence their artistic identity and production process.
To limit artistic creation to the artist’s physical surroundings would be an incomplete perspective. However, ignoring the effect of space altogether would mean overlooking crucial details of the artist’s creative journey.
It is clear that the environment in which an artist lives and works is one of the key elements shaping their process. The totality of the spaces to which an artist forms intellectual and emotional connections constitutes an essential part of their creative world.
